About the Role

This role is at the forefront of redefining the future of banking and crafting innovative solutions within Liquid Financing, aiming to become the most integrated financing provider. The position involves designing, developing, and improving software to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic direction for IT Services, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes.
• Manage the IT Services department, including oversight of colleagues, departmental goals, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Manage IT Services stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders and maintaining the quality of external third-party services.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT Services, ensuring adherence to control targets, standards, SLAs, and core technology production activities.
• Manage IT Services risk, including identification, mitigation strategies, and alignment with the bank’s change and compliance functions.
• Monitor the financial performance of the IT Services department, including revenue, profitability, cost control, and commercial agreements.
• Manage IT Services projects, driving research, product launches, and integrated solution delivery.
• Monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve complex technical issues while minimizing disruption.
• Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
• Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches.
• Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for future departmental needs, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to pay decisions.
• Lead specialists to influence department operations in alignment with strategic and tactical priorities, balancing short and long-term goals.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive.
• Act as a subject matter expert, guide technical direction, lead collaborative assignments, and guide team members.
• Identify the need for inclusion of other specializations to complete assignments.

Requirements

• Good SRE experience with experience implementing reliability practices, defining SLOs/error budgets, uptime and supporting incident response for multi-layered distributed systems.
• Proficient in cross-region cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), observability tools (Prometheus, CloudWatch), and automation frameworks with experience reducing toil.
• Solid infrastructure as code skills (Terraform, CloudFormation) with experience building self-service platforms, tooling, and deployment pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization with experience managing production systems at significant scale.
• Experience in observability and monitoring, metrics collection, logging, distributed tracing, and dashboard creation.
• Leadership experience mentoring SREs, running post-mortems, and driving reliability improvements across engineering teams.
• Good collaboration skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, and microservices reliability patterns in production environments.
• Experience working with REST API development and Integration.
• Experience with Database management / Query language.
