About the Role

Responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry tasks in an efficient and cooperative manner, with due consideration for the needs and comfort of residents.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping/laundry tasks efficiently and cooperatively according to the established schedule, considering residents' needs.
• Conducts routine deep cleaning as per the established schedule.
• Cleans and disinfects the building.
• Labels residents' personal clothing items clearly and accurately.
• Maintains accurate inventory records of linen and laundry supplies.
• Ensures safe operation of the dryer and regular cleaning of dryer lint.
• Ensures exits and corridors are clear of blockages, participates in fire and disaster drills, and carries out assigned duties.
• Replenishes supplies as needed.
• Complies with health and safety policies to minimize risks to residents, clients, coworkers, and self.
• Complies with sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Stays up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to perform heavy lifting tasks.
• Possesses visual acuity for inspecting linens and ensuring cleaning tasks meet standards.
• Comfortable using computer/phone applications.
• Must have a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset.
