About the Role
Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Senior Analyst, Treasury to join its corporate team. The position will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and work on a spectrum of treasury and finance activities. Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, the Senior Analyst will assist in global treasury operations, risk management, banking relationships, insurance, reporting, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the precious metal sales program
- Support the management of foreign currency and commodity exposures for Alamos operations
- Analyze market trends and provide recommendations to support trading and hedging activities
- Review and recommend short-term investment alternatives
- Maintain relationships with banks and other treasury related service providers
- Prepare consolidated cash reports and short-term cash forecasts, including monthly and quarterly reports for management
- Prepare monthly treasury reports and quarterly financial information
- Prepare and support compliance with IFRS 9 on hedge accounting documentation for the hedge programs, including FX and commodity risks
- Provide accounting support on treasury related transactions to the operations and corporate accounting team, as required
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for the Executive Leadership Team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors
- Collaborate with internal functions, including, Legal, Tax, Procurement, Projects, Investor Relations and other Finance colleagues, to support new development projects and on-going operations
- Co-ordinate Letters of Credit or Surety Bonds, as required by operations teams
- Liaise with insurance brokers and operations to support the annual renewals of the Company’s insurance programs.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Assist with ad hoc projects and requests as required
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in treasury or corporate finance
- Experience within mining or natural resources is an asset
- Strong analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize information clearly and accurately for different audiences
- Strong understanding of foreign exchange risk management and hedging strategies
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a professional and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, and remain calm under pressure
- A strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork while maintaining the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships
- Strong documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (excel proficiency required), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Proactive, dependable, and motivated, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
