About the Role

The Admissions Assistant will support the Recruitment and Admissions team in building a competitive class of incoming 9th grade Scholars. This role involves representing the SEO Scholars program by facilitating presentations, serving as a main point of contact for applicants, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and providing logistical and administrative support for events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and informative recruitment presentations to 9th grade students.
• Serve as the main point of contact for applicants from a specific group of high schools.
• Communicate with applicants by phone, text, and email to support application completion.
• Respond to all applicant outreach to ensure recruitment targets are met.
• Track applicant information and communication in recruitment databases and spreadsheets.
• Process applications and update databases to inform progress on recruitment goals.
• Generate data reports and communicate across the Recruitment and Admissions team.
• Manage contact information systems to ensure accuracy for effective outreach.
• Review student applications and make recommendations for the admissions process.
• Interview applicants and make recommendations for acceptance.
• Assist the team in making final admissions decisions.
• Communicate with accepted applicants regarding their admissions status.
• Support the execution of program orientation for new students and their families.
• Notify applicants advancing through the admissions process.
• Schedule applicants for interviews and manage schedules.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Recruitment Manager.

Requirements

• Experience in customer service or operations.
• Experience working directly with youth and families is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
• Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
