About the Role

Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks including electrical and mechanical maintenance work such as installation, fabrication, assembly, set up, diagnosis, and troubleshooting on plant equipment, services, and facilities. This role requires the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills, working from blueprints, sketches, written, and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on energized lines, circuits, and connections with voltages up to 12,500V.
• Operate a variety of equipment including saws, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, meters, voltmeters, o-scopes, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, welding equipment, carts, ladders, and lifts.
• Provide cross-training for other skills.
• Enter work orders, distribute time, and prepare quotes and estimates using computers.
• Perform tasks equivalent to handling 16-50 lbs., work overhead in awkward positions, run conduit, and repair instruments and motors.
• Align belts, erect partitions, and infrequently handle 51-80 lbs.
• Repair machinery involving heavy component parts.
• Perform visual inspection and repair of instruments, circuits on boards, and calibrating electronic equipment.
• Troubleshoot, fabricate, assemble, and install electronic equipment, instruments, and gages.
• Read blueprints and view set-ups on high-speed machines.
• Apply knowledge of materials, applications, processes, facilities, and equipment, including all phases of electrical and electronics.
• Perform higher math computations and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
• Maintain sustained attention to prevent losses of materials or process control.
• Work with switch gear or relay boxes, pipes, various metals, and woods.
• Endure intermittent to continuous exposure to heat, noise, glare, fumes, burners, and machines.

Requirements

• Must pass the Hands On Trades Skill Assessment.
• Experience in a 24/7 union manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Experience with vendor management and capital project finances.
• Highly organized and capable of operating in a demanding environment.
• Requires strong leadership skills while working with peers at all levels.
• Must be highly motivated and results oriented.
• Ability to be a change agent in a fast-paced organization.
• Must be results focused with a commitment and desire to make an impact.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Union experience highly desired.
