About the Role
As an Air Logistics Warehouse Associate, you will contribute to the timely delivery of Express packages by loading and unloading air freight containers, and moving these containers from airplane to truck for on-time delivery. This role operates in a cross-dock environment with minimal storage, focusing on moving packages from aircraft to warehouse to trucks.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload Express packages from air freight containers to and from semi-trucks.
- Sort, scan, and move small packages within the warehouse.
- Build up and break down package containers for outbound/inbound flights.
- Remove tie-downs and other gear during loading and unloading.
- Operate air freight handling equipment such as pallet jacks and gaylords.
- Weigh, label, or make/break-down gaylords or air freight containers.
- Check air express containers for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents per air safety and security guidelines.
- Report to position on time as scheduled, including mandatory overtime, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Successfully complete required computer-based and on-the-job training.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies.
- Work outdoors with exposure to extreme weather/elements, engine noise, and noxious fumes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
- One-year experience in a similar role preferred.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and holidays.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings.
Skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday), and holidays.
- Ability to judge distances.
- Ability to successfully communicate with others.
