About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who already has some experience working with meat and is eager to develop their skills under the guidance of an experienced Meat Cutter. If you're passionate about quality food, enjoy working with your hands, and want to build a long-term career in the trade, we'd love to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting, trimming, portioning, and preparing meats for retail sale.
• Learn proper knife skills, cutting techniques, and product presentation.
• Package, label, and merchandise fresh meat products.
• Maintain exceptional food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Rotate inventory and replenish displays following FIFO practices.
• Keep the department clean, organized, and production-ready.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service when assisting shoppers.
• Continuously develop skills and product knowledge through hands-on training.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a butcher shop, grocery meat department, food production, or meat processing is preferred.
• Basic knife skills and a genuine interest in learning the craft of meat cutting.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to take direction and learn from experienced team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated environments and handling raw meat.
• Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented.
• Open availability, including weekends.
