About the Role

The TEGNA Design Tank in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Motion Graphic Designer with strong 3D or editing skills to join its internal creative department. This role supports broadcast television stations and digital platforms by creating complex animated graphics, infographics, kinetic typography, and video assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and animate broadcast graphics for TEGNA local news stations, including logo design, informational graphics, branding, and marketing projects.
  • Communicate with stations regarding projects and daily graphics.
  • Handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Formal training in design/art school and preferably motion graphic curriculum at trade school or college.
  • Proficient in Cinema 4D and/or Blender preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Editing experience (Adobe Premiere) will be considered.
  • Broadcast experience desired.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a motion graphic designer in a professional graphic design environment preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong executional skills in Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Premiere Pro are preferred; any Chyron experience is a plus.
  • Excellent design and animation skills; editor and designer skills are a plus.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating compelling and aspirational designs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under very tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask projects.
  • Flexibility and experience with current design & editing AI tools.
  • Ability to react to change and take direction effectively and productively.
  • Strong spelling and grammar skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends.
