About the Role

The Member Education Coordinator serves as a key educational resource, supporting the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of member education across ONA. This role is crucial for empowering members and advocating for nurses and health-care professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of member education initiatives and resources.
  • Develop and maintain educational planning resources, learning pathways, and annual education calendars.
  • Facilitate educational programs and workshops.
  • Monitor workshop scheduling and provide recommendations for workload distribution.
  • Make recommendations regarding educational priorities, resource allocation, process improvements, and emerging opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for member education eLearning initiatives.
  • Act as a primary resource for educational technologies, learning management systems, and online learning tools.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, review, and enhancement of online learning resources and content.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and internal partners to improve eLearning resources.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance learner experience through technology and innovation.
  • Collaborate with partners to support educational technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and mentorship activities for new staff.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding resources and educational support materials.
  • Support facilitators in strengthening instructional practices.
  • Support knowledge transfer, succession planning, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Review educational programs and deliverables for quality, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Review and provide guidance on learning plans, facilitator guides, presentations, and participant resources.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of educational templates and facilitator resources.
  • Coordinate and lead the review and revision of educational guides, manuals, and materials.
  • Ensure educational content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure educational resources meet accessibility requirements, adult learning principles, and best practices.
  • Act as a resource regarding educational processes, procedures, and resources.
  • Coordinate operational aspects of major educational events and initiatives.
  • Support project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Review educational processes and workflows to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Monitor educational program delivery and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation and operational resources.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to support integrated educational initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma as a Registered Health Professional and/or in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning, or a related field.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in adult education, labour relations education, organizational learning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex educational projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, analyze, and improve operational processes and educational systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in needs-based educational program development, design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated facilitation experience using adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives and building collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, learning management systems, and educational technology platforms.
  • A flexible schedule may be required for evening and weekend work.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Have access to an automobile for business use.
  • Ability to travel across Ontario may be required.
