About the Role
The QA Technician reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards for products and equipment. This role ensures food contact surfaces are safe, free of contaminants, and that raw materials and finished products meet SQF standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate lab scheduling based on plant schedules
- Calibrate lab equipment
- Perform pre-operational inspections and line swabbing
- Inspect batching stations and validate ingredients and processes
- Perform critical control point checks
- Analyze samples from batchers
- Collect micro-samples and coordinate external lab shipping
- Conduct continuous line and GMP checks
- Manage product holds, releases, disposals, and rework
- Manage glass breakage and bodily fluid reports
- Inspect totes prior to production
- Conduct SNCR and NCR investigations
- Perform finished product, bench, and sensory analysis
- Manage sample collection
- Inspect incoming materials
- Manage COAs for received products and customers
- Document batching adjustments
- Inspect coolers and freezers
- Perform environmental monitoring
- Submit QA shift reports
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in food manufacturing
- College Diploma in Food Science or a related field
- Ability to understand and interpret standard lab equipment
- Willingness to learn
