About the Role
The school operations administrator is responsible for overseeing the school office, maintenance of office equipment, and acts as the first point of contact for families and visitors. This role plays a critical part in daily school operations, including managing student files, health information, family engagement, and advocacy tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support core school systems, including arrival, attendance, transitions, lunch/recess, and dismissal.
- Serve as a primary point of contact in the main office for students, staff, families, and visitors.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Respond to emails and phone calls within 24–48 hours.
- Foster a welcoming, student-centered environment.
- Manage daily attendance processes and maintain accurate student records.
- Ensure completion of required documentation (e.g., immunizations, lunch forms).
- Support ATS tasks, data submissions, and MetroCard distribution.
- Support school events through logistics, setup, and coordination.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational main office.
- Manage calls and student documentation.
- Prepare and distribute family communications, including flyers and notices.
- Support family engagement initiatives, including KIPP Family Association events and advocacy efforts.
- Respond to student health needs and coordinate with the school nurse as needed.
- Serve as a member of the Building Response Team (BRT) and support emergency response procedures.
- Ensure office supplies and equipment are maintained.
- Participate in school-wide activities, including field trips and enrichment programs.

- This role is based in NYC and will require travel to our schools.
