About the Role
MongoDB’s Developer Productivity organization aims to enhance software development through effective processes and shared tools. We are seeking a Senior Director to lead the Pipeline team, responsible for integrating major systems that power software delivery. The team's mission is to provide a reliable, scalable, secure, and effective platform for fast software deployment, utilizing AI-native approaches.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, execution, and operating model for MongoDB’s end-to-end software delivery pipeline.
- Set portfolio priorities and resource allocation in partnership with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Improve the experience of internal engineering users while enhancing reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and evolve mechanisms for measuring developer productivity, system health, and business impact.
- Build a healthy, high-performing organization by growing managers and strengthening succession depth.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for critical trade-offs and cross-functional issues.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- 6+ years of experience managing multiple teams and building a strong bench of leaders in a geographically distributed organization.
- Track record of scaling large software systems used by software engineers, ideally including CI/CD, release, or other developer infrastructure platforms.
- Strong judgment across developer-facing product experience and underlying platform architecture.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Experience or strong familiarity with software supply chain and release concerns.
- Ability to define strategy and drive execution in ambiguous environments.
