About the Role

Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring protocols are followed consistently and documented appropriately
- Perform end-to-end data acquisition, including collection, transfer, validation, and storage of laboratory and experimental data
- Process, clean, and organize large datasets from bench and pre-clinical testing activities to ensure data integrity and traceability
- Conduct data analysis and communicate data trends, anomalies, and insights for engineering and product teams
- Support the management and maintenance of data, ensuring data is properly labeled, stored, and accessible across teams
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of data tools, software, and systems to improve research efficiency and data quality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioengineering, Biology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with CLI use (Linux and Windows OS)
- Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and research protocols
- Proficiency in working with Linux and Windows OS
- Ability to read and write thorough lab reports
- Can use standard laboratory equipment safely and effectively
- 2+ years of laboratory experience (including undergraduate/graduate work)
- Clinical/research experience
- Understanding of aseptic techniques
- Basic ophthalmology knowledge
- Good communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, clinicians, and project managers
- Ability to find patterns between complicated data, then organize and present that data to stakeholders with varying degrees of subject matter expertise
