About the Role

As an Applications Engineer, you will coordinate, plan, design, and install machinery or equipment in an industrial environment using advanced instruments and computer systems. You will also leverage your programming and engineering knowledge to support manufacturers in improving productivity and maintaining a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-sale activities and reviews, including customer visits, opportunity evaluations, machine assessments, part processing recommendations, and turnkey proposal development.
• Make accurate cost estimates, write engineering reports, and interpret plans and specifications.
• Program and set up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills.
• Develop and implement custom demonstrations.
• Train customers in the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, and multi-tasking machines.
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of company product lines.
• Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Machine Programming and Set-Up Experience.
• Fanuc Control Experience.
• Mitsubishi Control Experience.
• CAM Programming Experience.
• G&M Code Programming Experience.
• Tolerance for travel and overnight stays (80% travel to customer sites).
• Willingness to be trained on machines beyond Okuma & Tsugami.
• Must be highly mobile and able to access all areas of the premises.
• Ability to concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to frequently use hands and arms.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites with tight timelines and changing priorities.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, and metal chips while wearing PPE.
