Responsibilities

  • File packing slips and research receiving errors or invoice discrepancies.
  • Resolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
  • Approve problem freight before it leaves receiving.
  • Receive packing slips when the receiving department is behind.
  • Schedule incoming freight.
  • Monitor future freight using container reports, open purchase orders, and communication with the Director of Purchasing.
  • Create return purchase orders for freight claims, including an invoice copy.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to check for damaged pallets, rearrange locations, and ensure inventory is presentable.
  • Research review queue adjustments.
  • Review daily cycle counts for accuracy.
  • Create and oversee the monthly cycle count schedule.
  • Perform cycle counts for all power tool SKUs the day after receipt.
  • Conduct weekly tool cage counts.
  • Create a monthly receiving and inventory plan.
  • Assist the Receiving Manager in planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of items.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operation of material and supply storage, slotting, and distribution.
  • Maintain equipment structure and levels to accomplish warehouse and receiving missions safely and effectively.
  • Provide appropriate equipment and racking for safe transport and storage of materials.
  • Research material handling equipment for optimal performance, safety, reliability, and cost.
  • Monitor the unloading of materials, ensuring proper staging for counting and inspection, and accurate receiving reports.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Oversee the rotation of inventories within warehouses.
  • Complete all assigned NEFCO trainings.
  • Monitor and enforce NEFCO training initiatives for direct reports.
  • Assist in implementing new training and enhancing existing training processes for direct reports.
  • Perform ad hoc duties and special requests as assigned.
  • Continuously re-warehouse product to optimize picking efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Review direct reports’ timecards for accuracy and completeness.
  • Approve employee timecards prior to the supervisor deadline.
  • Work with employees to resolve timecard errors.
  • Review and approve PTO requests.
  • Uphold the Leader’s Safety Six protocol: Don’t tolerate unsafe acts, identify and fix unsafe conditions, report every incident, conduct accident investigations, and communicate with HR about incidents and investigations.

Requirements

  • Track record of being a results-oriented person with 5+ years of experience in industrial warehousing/distribution operations.
  • Effective communicator up, down, and across the organization.
  • Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system.
  • Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Positive, hard-working attitude.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions (cold, heat, humidity) for extended periods.
  • Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and twist for lifting.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and be recertified.
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on with an aptitude for multi-tasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to direct, coach, support, and delegate to associates.
