About the Role

University of Guelph-Humber invites talented, committed individuals interested in teaching on a part-time basis to join our dynamic faculty team. The incumbent will teach MDST*1300 – Media Production Toolkit, creating an effective adult learning environment, facilitating learning, assessing student progress, and providing feedback.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a course called MDST*1300 – Media Production Toolkit
• Creating an effective adult learning environment
• Facilitating learning and classroom (both on campus and online) interaction
• Assessing student progress
• Providing student feedback

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s is preferred) in Media Production, Film Studies, Communications, or a closely related field
• At least 5 years’ experience as a media production professional
• Hands-on experience in video production and editing
• Hands-on experience in audio recording
• Hands-on experience in photography
• Hands-on experience in publishing content to online platforms
• Hands-on experience with content creation tools such as Canva
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is an asset

Skills

• Expertise in using media production equipment, including cameras, lighting, microphones, and recording devices
• Comprehensive knowledge of video production, including pre-production, shooting, and post-production processes
• Proficient in video editing and Adobe Premiere Pro
• Audio recording techniques and editing software (Audacity or Adobe Audition)
• Photography skills using DSLR cameras, including file management and post-processing basics
• Familiarity with online publishing platforms
• Familiarity with basic web design using WordPress
• Content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
