About the Role
Lead the Cloud Engineering team within Vehicle Autonomy at GM to build an elastic compute platform for autonomous vehicle development and operation. Deliver a developer-ready PaaS as a product, abstracting infrastructure complexity to enable rapid iteration of applications.
Responsibilities
- Continuously develop and optimize the ACI PaaS layer for secure and resilient compute and storage.
- Own the operation and scaling of 12,000+ namespaces across 150+ clusters of GKE-based IaaS/PaaS layers and on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
- Build and maintain rapid deployment pipelines and abstracted storage layers to accelerate autonomous software delivery.
- Direct authoritative DNS zones and records to optimize traffic for distributed development workloads.
- Own the full capacity lifecycle for cloud resources, including planning, provisioning, and utilization tracking.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred) and container orchestration at scale.
- Proven track record building "Platform as a Product" for large-scale engineering organizations.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native storage, service meshes (Istio), and traffic engineering.
- Proven leadership experience at the Manager or Principal-level scope.
