About the Role
The Scientist, Lab Operations is responsible for accurately executing laboratory experiments and contributing to the design of scientific procedures. This role supports scientific discovery and Good Laboratory Practices for the customer through laboratory testing, equipment operation, data analysis, and timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine qualitative and quantitative laboratory procedures under minimal supervision while following all safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practices
- Use, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers and Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography systems
- Conduct equipment tuning, compound optimization, and integration of chromatographic peaks generated by LC-MS/MS
- Prepare data for upload to Watson LIMS and analyze data according to standard operating procedures
- Apply good scientific judgment and proactively initiate troubleshooting experiments in response to data anomalies
- Prepare experiments and samples for analysis and accurately document procedures according to customer requirements
- Analyze and report results in a timely manner to support scientific meetings and project outcomes
- Communicate findings with cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in applied/laboratory sciences with direct laboratory course work required
- 0-2 years direct laboratory experience required
- Experience using and maintaining Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers
- Experience using Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography systems and LC-MS/MS workflows
- Knowledge of Watson LIMS data upload and data analysis according to standard operating procedures
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
