About the Role
This role is critical to securing the UK's low-carbon energy future by managing essential support services for the Hinkley Point C project. You will ensure the smooth operation of associated development sites and parking, contributing to a project of unprecedented scale and complexity while developing your career.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day provision of a critical site support service to a construction workforce of circa 16,000.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, site, and associated development site operational and health and safety controls.
- Form effective relationships with service contract partners and champions, upholding core project values.
- Ensure contract partners' teams are fully competent and report any shortfalls.
- Develop and implement plans to meet or exceed service delivery requirements and project schedules.
- Intervene early to prevent unnecessary escalation of issues affecting service delivery through a 'one team' approach.
- Deliver and maintain HPC’s Associated Development Sites and Parking Allocation and enforcement.
- Deputise for the Passenger Transport Service Manager in their absence.
- Provide technical input and advice for the scope of work, potentially involving all stages of procurement, planning, implementation, and operation.
- Act as the Project Point of Contact and local authority liaison for the control and removal of GRT community incursions.
- Develop, review, and update policies and procedures for safety and standard operating procedures across AD sites.
- Prepare detailed specifications for infrastructure or real estate changes.
- Ensure safe and sufficient facilities for Tier 1 contract partners' staff to travel to the main HPC Construction site.
- Act as a single point of contact for all AD site matters related to Passenger Transport and Parking activity.
- Undertake planned and reactive monthly Health and Safety and Engagement inspections and meetings.
- Undertake emergent tasks as directed by the Passenger Transport Service Manager.
Requirements
- Recent and relevant in-depth knowledge and experience in a service supply environment.
- Management or leadership experience in a service lead environment.
- Experience working within the constraints of a controlled access high-security environment.
- Confident in own abilities and able to deliver a positive effect in a dynamic, fluctuating environment.
- Willingness to learn from own experiences and those of others.
- Proven technical experience within a large project environment demonstrating logistics and facilities management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, able to establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships.
- Confident and willing to work cooperatively with local supply chain partners.
