About the Role
This position is responsible for the preparation, sale, and exceptional service of food and beverages, along with other operational and inventory tasks under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Food and Beverage. Success will be demonstrated through a friendly demeanor and knowledgeable direction, leading by example to create Great Experiences and Memories for all guests and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, exhibiting, encouraging, and motivating GCT’s values and beliefs.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service to customers at all times.
- Offer information regarding products, options, ingredients, specials, and preparation times.
- Address all customer product and service needs, requests, and concerns promptly.
- Consistently maintain and replenish supplies in service areas.
- Ensure service areas are kept clean at all times, correcting deviations from GCT standards.
- Train and assist new personnel in delivering optimal service, food preparation, and presentation.
- Comply with GCT uniform requirements at all times.
- Uphold and demonstrate safety rules and standards as designated by the F&B Department.
- Adhere to Smart Serve and Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations.
- Prepare, serve, and sell hot and cold food items including sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks, and baked goods, and portioning/preparing salad items according to GCT standards.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
- Consistently maintain supplies and inventory to meet service levels.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Pick up, count, and verify floats on a daily basis.
- Complete all tasks as assigned on prep, usage, and cleaning sheets.
- Assist in counting opening inventories and verifying receipt of new supplies.
- Wash, sanitize, and store small wares in designated locations.
- Clean and sanitize all counters, condiment tables, and equipment at the end of the shift.
- Store all supplies in a secured area.
- Prepare and count deposits and reconcile variances at the completion of the shift.
- Assist in counting closing inventories and completing waste sheets.
- Complete and submit all required closing round documentation.
- Set up service areas, condiment tables, and check equipment, ensuring all areas are cleaned and sanitized and correcting deviations from GCT standard.
Requirements
- Proven ability to deal professionally and courteously with customers.
- Thorough understanding of methods, machinery, techniques, and sanitation practices involved with preparation and service of concession food and alcoholic beverages.
- Working knowledge of cash register and tendering procedures.
- Proven accuracy in performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages.
- Working knowledge of Safe Food Handling Procedures and Health and Safety Practices is an asset.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Smart Serve certification.
