About the Role

Buckles Law is seeking an experienced Wills, Trust and Estates Disputes (WTED) Lawyer to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of contentious probate matters for individual clients, both domestically and internationally. Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the WTED team to deliver on agreed cases and support the wider team as required.
  • Engage in a broad spectrum of contentious probate work including bringing and defending Inheritance Act claims, construction and rectification claims, Court of Protection disputes, executor disputes, trustee disputes, proprietary estoppel claims, and challenges to Wills.
  • Attract work according to the needs of the firm and raise the firm's profile within the chosen marketplace.
  • Conduct oneself in business and personal life in a manner which does not adversely affect the reputation of the firm.
  • Take part in departmental meetings, appraisals, and any other meetings as required.
  • Support management in working with other team members on a variety of cases.
  • Achieve individual targets with supervision.
  • Project the image that the firm wishes to project.
  • Identify and undertake practice development activity to promote the firm, specifically the contentious probate specialism, caseload, and client base.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and build appropriate relationships with clients.
  • Adhere to agreed firm standards and quality procedures, including maintaining neat and proper files to meet ISO standards.
  • Comply with financial procedures and accounting rules.
  • Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
  • Delegate and cross-refer work effectively to appropriate personnel.
  • Continually develop technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements.

Requirements

  • Preferably an experienced WTED lawyer, but less experienced candidates with an interest and aptitude will be considered.
  • Good technical knowledge relating to the role or the ability to assimilate knowledge while undertaking the role.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and takes the initiative.
  • Personable and confident, able to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload.
  • Submit an up-to-date CV demonstrating suitable skills and experience.
