About the Role
The Sourcing Manager serves as the primary liaison between product and procurement teams, managing communications between local and international stakeholders. This role is responsible for the entire process of new ingredient requests, from initial request through onboarding, and will effectively manage the sourcing of new ingredients into their local market to drive innovation and enhance customer experience. The role reports into the International Sourcing Lead with a dotted line into the local Head of Culinary, involving regular interaction with international stakeholders and peer Sourcing Managers.
Responsibilities
- Leads project management for new ingredient requests between culinary, product, and procurement teams.
- Owns the workflow for new ingredient requests, acting as a gatekeeper to ensure adherence to standardized processes and managing the progression or rejection of requests.
- Aligns with the local NID/Ingredient Specialist to ensure timely completion of all sourcing tasks according to the critical path.
- Reviews new ingredient requisition proposals for completeness before engaging local suppliers or handing over to category managers.
- Manages stakeholder engagement and communications between local and international teams to ensure consistency in NID approach.
- Coordinates new developments with category managers, sensory testing management, culinary, FSQA, and other markets.
- Facilitates speedy SKU onboarding and ensures new SKU creation is coordinated across markets, including reviewing potential alternative SKUs.
- Supports category managers in cost savings initiatives through improved SKU catalog management and identifying opportunities for SKU consolidation or sourcing from international catalogs.
- Supports SKU improvement initiatives with culinary and quality teams to refine specifications or formulations for better ingredient performance.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience (3+ years) in Procurement/Category sourcing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and self-management skills with a strong focus on teamwork.
- Proficient in English, customer-oriented, and able to interact with business leaders and vendors at a senior level.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Ability to lead and influence business partners, team members, and other stakeholders, present ideas effectively, and facilitate discussion.
- Experience with change management, process improvement, and risk assessment.
- Experience managing hybrid and flexible delivery-focused teams in a global organization.
- Aptitude for establishing and sustaining trusting relationships amongst stakeholders across local and international teams.
- Ability to leverage insights from evolving processes and incorporate them into daily work.
- Ability to effectively manage timelines and stakeholder expectations while delivering consistent results.
- Must have the independent right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided.
- Required to cooperate with HelloFresh in all health and safety matters.
- Responsible for own and others' health and safety.
- Must report incidents immediately and raise health and safety concerns.
- Successful candidates will undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
- Failure to disclose relevant information at application or throughout the process could affect employment.
