About the Role
The Berlin Biennale is seeking an Online Communications Manager to plan and coordinate digital channel activities for the 14th Berlin Biennale. This role is crucial for expanding the audience, reaching new target groups, and reducing access barriers through open and engaging communication.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate digital communication measures.
- Create a feasible, cross-channel editorial plan for online communication.
- Develop and manage digital marketing initiatives.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with digital platforms, content creators, and online multipliers.
- Monitor digital trends and integrate them into the digital communication strategy.
- Independently create, edit, and publish content for social media, newsletters, digital campaigns, and invitations.
- Conceptualize and produce audiovisual communication formats, including short videos, interviews, Reels, and documentary formats.
- Coordinate and prepare film and production dates, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Edit, maintain, and develop the Berlin Biennale website, including its edition-specific information sections.
- Plan and coordinate paid social media and other digital marketing activities.
- Conduct data-based evaluation of reach and usage.
- Assist with digital crisis communication.
- Coordinate content across departments for alignment and approval.
- Manage external service providers for digital infrastructure.
- Provide continuous reporting to the team to ensure information flow.
- Offer general and administrative support for daily office organization, international office communication, and correspondence.
Requirements
- Successfully completed a university or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Communication Studies, Art/Humanities, Digital Communication, Media Studies).
- Experience in the specified areas of responsibility.
- Very good computer skills and proficient use of digital applications (image editing, video editing).
- Proficient use of content management systems.
- Knowledge of common online marketing applications (Meta Business Suite/Meta Ads, Google Ads).
- Sensitivity to artistic, curatorial, and socio-political content.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Careful, independent, and reliable working style.
