About the Role

The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) is seeking a Paralegal for a short-term contract to support a market-wide contract review and stakeholder consultation project. This role will act as a central point of coordination, manage feedback and documentation, and contribute to legal and regulatory activities, including developing model contracts and conducting research. It offers the opportunity to work with legal professionals and develop expertise in insurance law and regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a significant market-wide contract review and stakeholder consultation project, acting as a central point of coordination.
  • Support the review and analysis of a major market infrastructure agreement, identifying key changes, impacts, and issues.
  • Collect, consolidate, and track feedback from LMA members, Lloyd's, external legal advisers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain project trackers, issue logs, action registers, stakeholder feedback records, and project documentation.
  • Support project meetings, committees, and working groups by preparing papers, coordinating agendas, attending meetings, and tracking actions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of London market model contracts, clauses, guidance documents, and other market-wide legal materials.
  • Assist in preparing responses to government, regulatory, and industry consultations.
  • Undertake legal and regulatory research across a range of UK and international issues affecting the insurance market.
  • Support horizon scanning activities, identifying and summarising legal, regulatory, and public policy developments relevant to members.
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, guidance documents, reports, and member communications.
  • Handle confidential and legally sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • Legal experience gained as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm, in-house legal team, regulatory environment, trade association, or other professional services setting.
  • Experience reviewing, analysing, and comparing contracts and other legal documentation.
  • Experience supporting complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating stakeholder feedback, maintaining action trackers, and managing project documentation.
  • Experience supporting committees, working groups, consultations, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • An interest in insurance law, regulation, public policy, or financial services would be advantageous.

  • Strong contract review, analysis, and drafting skills.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Ability to undertake legal and regulatory research and present complex issues clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage and maintain project documentation, records, and action trackers.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Location

  • London office in EC3M

Work Type

  • Short-term fixed-term contract
  • Onsite three days per week (typically Tuesday to Thursday) initially
  • Flexible working policy allowing work from LMA's office in London EC3, or elsewhere in the UK
