About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, service-oriented Household Manager and Family Assistant to create capacity, reduce decision fatigue, and bring order across multiple homes and businesses. This role is essential for allowing the family to focus on work, family, and meaningful moments by anticipating needs and ensuring all spaces are prepared and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform general pick-up and resets of high-traffic areas.
  • Conduct daily light tidying, including dishes and surface wiping.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and decluttering projects.
  • Prepare for events, holidays, and guests.
  • Pack and unpack for family travel.
  • Maintain and replace batteries and light bulbs in smoke detectors.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances and surfaces.
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas.
  • Undertake organizational projects for closets, pantry, and kids' gear.
  • Handle larger projects and deep cleans during family travel.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running supply lists and recurring household orders.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling.
  • Break down boxes for recycling.
  • Keep the fridge clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Assist with meal planning and ingredient procurement.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and baked goods.
  • Prepare components for lunches and weekly snack prep.
  • Assemble simple spreads and charcuterie for meetings.
  • Have ready-to-eat items prepared upon parent's return from travel.
  • Perform grocery shopping, prioritizing fresh items.
  • Wash, fold, and put away laundry by person.
  • Manage linen rotation for bedding and towels.
  • Perform ironing and steaming for events.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Provide occasional school pickups and drop-offs.
  • Offer light, backup childcare and supervision for date nights or events.
  • Assist with morning prep flow, snacks, and clothing.
  • Handle kid-related errands.
  • Schedule and track maintenance for family vehicles.
  • Perform fueling, cleaning, and organizing of family vehicles.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance deadlines.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics with discretion.
  • Support calendar management for household and kids' activities.
  • Coordinate appointments: medical, dental, kids' activities, and personal.
  • Provide occasional support for business events and tasks.
  • Provide virtual coordination and oversight for multiple properties.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks, vendor management, and utility tracking for rental properties.
  • Ensure properties are ready before family arrival.
  • Coordinate with property management companies and vendors.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to maintain a smoke-free and vape-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate multiple flights of stairs.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending, carrying, and sustained activity.
  • Reliable and available during peak seasons (Fourth of July, Thanksgiving week/weekend, Christmas week, family birthdays).
  • Comfortable and capable of driving in winter weather conditions.
  • Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Up to date on recommended vaccinations (COVID-19, flu, routine immunizations), subject to legal accommodations.
  • Candidates with cats may present a concern due to household allergies.
