About the Role

As a Senior Supply Operations Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting inventory control, transaction accuracy, and operational reporting across our European supply network. Working closely with Supply, Product Control, Finance Operations, and Costing teams, you'll lead critical reconciliations, resolve complex operational issues, and help improve the processes and controls that support our business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst who enjoys solving problems, working with data, collaborating across teams, and driving operational improvements in a fast-paced international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily inventory and exposure reconciliation activities across multiple European supply locations.
  • Partner closely with Product Control and Supply Managers to ensure physical inventory positions align with internal inventory and trading systems.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, transaction discrepancies, and position differences.
  • Monitor inventory movements, storage balances, transfers, receipts, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support month-end close activities by working with Costing and Finance teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Ensure timely processing of inventory transfers and transactions across the European supply network.
  • Monitor and resolve system interface failures, transaction errors, and processing exceptions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related operational issues between Supply, Finance Operations, Vendor Setup, Product Control, and Costing teams.
  • Coordinate resolution of aged balances, pending receipts, and outstanding operational issues.
  • Escalate risks and exceptions proactively to minimise operational and financial impact.
  • Analyse inventory, costing, and operational reports to identify exceptions, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor key operational metrics related to inventory processing, reconciliation, and transaction accuracy.
  • Prepare reporting and updates for management regarding risks, issues, and operational performance.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring operational challenges.
  • Document and maintain operational procedures across countries, suppliers, and business units.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Finance leadership to identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and process optimisation.
  • Strengthen operational controls and improve data accuracy across inventory and supply processes.
  • Support testing and implementation of system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for inventory transactions, reconciliations, and operational processes.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior analysts and team members.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in supply chain operations, inventory management, commodity operations, accounting, finance operations, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory transactions, reconciliations, operational controls, and month-end processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within energy, commodities, fuels, logistics, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience performing inventory exposure or position reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with European inventory operations, suppliers, and reporting structures.
  • Experience troubleshooting transaction flows, system interfaces, and processing issues.
  • Previous experience mentoring or training team members.
