About the Role

Responsibilities
- Perform and maintain daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners.
- Review requisitions to determine proper study.
- Interview patients for medical history.
- Prepare patients for exams.
- Administer oral and IV contrast.
- Utilize knowledge of Creatinine meter.
- Explain benefits and risks of contrast to patients.
- Position patients appropriately.
- Select scan parameters and exposure factors.
- Monitor patients during scanning.
- Review images for quality and abnormalities.
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines.
- Adhere to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping.
- Complete documentation and file notations.
- Perform QC and patient tests according to protocol.
- Perform weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC.
- Work cooperatively with radiologists.
- Perform IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines.
- Record patient history and pertinent information regarding their examination.
- Verify successful and timely transmission of images, tech notes, and required documents to PACS.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized, approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) by the state Medical Board.
- Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
