About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners.
  • Review requisitions to determine proper study.
  • Interview patients for medical history.
  • Prepare patients for exams.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast.
  • Utilize knowledge of Creatinine meter.
  • Explain benefits and risks of contrast to patients.
  • Position patients appropriately.
  • Select scan parameters and exposure factors.
  • Monitor patients during scanning.
  • Review images for quality and abnormalities.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines.
  • Adhere to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping.
  • Complete documentation and file notations.
  • Perform QC and patient tests according to protocol.
  • Perform weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC.
  • Work cooperatively with radiologists.
  • Perform IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines.
  • Record patient history and pertinent information regarding their examination.
  • Verify successful and timely transmission of images, tech notes, and required documents to PACS.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized, approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) by the state Medical Board.
  • Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
