About the Role

Combine market expertise, leadership, and innovation to maximize the value of renewable energy assets in a fast-changing energy market, influencing strategy, performance, and commercial success across a growing portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial performance of renewable assets, identifying opportunities to improve revenue and efficiency.
  • Manage optimisation strategies across wind, solar and battery portfolios.
  • Oversee optimiser contracts and challenge performance to drive value.
  • Monitor market developments and implement new revenue streams, including ancillary services.
  • Lead the introduction of assets into the Balancing Mechanism.
  • Work with internal teams to align operational strategies and improve asset performance.
  • Drive innovation through digitalisation, data, and new technologies including AI-enabled optimisation.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including National Grid, partners, and internal teams.
  • Deliver performance analysis, reporting, and actionable insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • A degree-level qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in the UK energy market, including regulations and energy trading.
  • Proven experience using energy trading and optimisation platforms such as Modo or LCP.
  • Strong asset management experience including P&L responsibility and understanding of operations and maintenance.
  • Experience working with National Grid ESO and operational requirements for renewable assets.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Evidence of influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes.
