About the Role
Steel Sports is seeking a Soccer Teams Director to support its Washington region. This role involves overseeing all teams within the region and reporting to a Senior leader, with direct interaction across all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and approve Steel Sports budgets.
- Monitor and execute financial budgets for individual teams and the club.
- Oversee player registration and fee collection.
- Oversee Assistant Teams Directors and all Head and Assistant Coaches.
- Help maintain positive on and off-field results within their club.
- Liaise with Senior Leadership on National Programs.
- Attend an annual summit with all Regional Teams Directors.
- Liaise with VP, Teams regularly to discuss agenda topics.
- Plan and execute annual performance reviews with Assistant Teams Directors and Coaches.
- Lead the hiring committee for Assistant Teams Directors and Coaches.
- Plan, implement, and execute all sales, marketing, and advertising campaigns for the club.
- Devise new methods to market the club and reach new potential families.
- Devise, implement, and execute plans to grow the current club and reach new families.
- Identify clubs, directors, and coaches that are a cultural fit with Steel Sports.
- Create new ideas and methods to integrate the Steel Sports mission, vision, and core values.
- Represent Steel Sports locally at appropriate conferences and summits.
- Develop, implement, and execute fundraising events.
- Host annual town hall events with families to gage feedback.
- Follow the Social Impact Office's recommended social impact plan for the local area.
- Develop a strategic short, medium, and long-term plan for the local Steel Sports club.
- Oversee the club's social media output and evaluate content.
- Determine appropriate social media content and ensure messaging is consistent.
- Communicate specific programs and national initiatives directly to all families.
- Plan, implement, and maintain the club website.
- Work with Steel Sports partners to execute partnership activations.
- Assist with finding local partnerships/sponsorships.
- Identify potential partners and/or sponsors.
- Establish best practices across all teams in the club.
- Evaluate each team annually to determine and ensure adherence to club and national best practices.
- Utilize universal operational materials for the Teams product.
- Oversee the scheduling of practices, leagues, and tournaments.
- Plan and oversee the execution of tryouts and lead player selection and placement.
- Oversee equipment needs for the club and coordinate ordering.
- Oversee the operations of the uniform process according to national policies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement amongst coaches.
- Ensure all coaches are compliant with Steel Sports safety and Coaching System requirements.
- Oversee and support the Team Steel Coach Developer.
- Co-ordinate with coaches to ensure effective communication of expectations, rules, and schedules.
- Implement Steel Sports rituals.
- Coach teams based on the needs of the region.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with children.
- Prior knowledge of the fundamentals of soccer.
- Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, ethical, and committed to the mission of Steel Sports.
- Successfully complete the application and screening process.
- Understanding of and ability to apply principles of quality youth development.
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
- Active engagement with and supervision of children requiring physical stamina, alertness, and emotional stability.
- Have a general understanding of and proficiency with computer technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to improving conditions and providing opportunities for all youth.
