About the Role

Establish and run a brand-new architecture function from scratch, bringing vital grip and pragmatic governance to the technology estate. Lead enterprise, solution, and technical architecture, ensuring digital decisions are coherent, secure, and aligned with strategic goals. Balance strategic leadership with practical design assurance, chairing the Technical Design Authority and providing technical oversight to the Strategic Architecture Board. Provide senior professional advice on digital, data, cyber security, and emerging technologies. Lead and develop a team of five, building technical capability and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Support legacy system modernization and cloud migration to ensure major technology investments are scalable, cost-effective, and compliant with security, data protection, and information governance requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of leading enterprise, solution or technical architecture within a large or complex organisation
  • Professional certification or formal training in TOGAF, ITIL or ISO 27001, or equivalent deep technical experience
  • Strong track record of designing and governing end-to-end technology solutions across cloud services, applications and data integration
  • Deep understanding of secure-by-design principles
  • Deep understanding of zero-trust models
  • Ability to analyse complex technical issues
  • Ability to identify risks
  • Ability to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations using accessible language for non-technical audiences
  • User-centred mindset
  • Ready to coach, mentor and develop your team
