About the Role
The Commercial Finance Manager will partner with the business to drive financial performance and strategy development, with a specific focus on the subscription business while maintaining broader commercial finance responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Own the review of monthly reporting on business unit performance to support business and financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated subscription financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and support pricing and packaging decisions.
- Monitor and analyze key subscription metrics (LTV, Churn, ARPU, CAC) to identify growth opportunities and investment returns.
- Integrate financial strategy into subscription growth initiatives in partnership with the Subscriptions Growth Team.
- Evaluate commercial data effectively and communicate articulately to non-financial stakeholders.
- Identify efficiency opportunities and execute in partnership with business executives and Head of Commercial Finance.
- Provide fortnightly updated forecasts of financial performance, including costs.
- Deliver annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for business units.
- Perform financial appraisal of potential new opportunities and investment requests.
- Manage and develop a finance analyst.
- Work with the wider Finance Team to maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant
- Experience working within a subscription-based business.
- Strong understanding of subscription economics (LTV, CAC, Churn, ARPU) and modeling techniques.
- Organized, structured, and results-focused.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Values and understands the importance of, and can present information neatly and professionally.
- Problem solver and innovator.
- Collaborative, engaging, and influencing communication style.
- Can demonstrate the gravitas to provide insightful challenge to senior executives.
- Good knowledge of finance systems.
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel.
