About the Role

This senior leadership role is responsible for sustaining, growing, and developing HDR’s Architectural practice in the Northeast region. You will collaborate with leadership to establish a business plan and guide multi-disciplinary teams to achieve regional and enterprise growth goals, embodying the company's core pillars of regenerative future, transforming design delivery, and community well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead business group initiatives for the region.
  • Work directly with Managing Principals to ensure growth strategies and office operating plans are met.
  • Actively engage in annual alignment and planning meetings.
  • Support managing principals in meeting their P&L goals.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and client satisfaction.
  • Work with office leadership on staff recruitment, training, development, guidance, compensation, and retention.
  • Collaborate with market sector leadership to support business development teams and achieve top-line goals.
  • Partner with market sector leadership to identify strategic hires and talent gaps, aiding recruitment.
  • Share responsibility for joint management of the Region's Profit and Loss, including revenue and costs.
  • Engage in GNG and fee review calls, providing leadership guidance on pursuit strategy and project delivery.
  • Assist with strategy for communications planning to elevate HDR's brand and thought leadership.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Engage in project delivery.
  • Perform other duties as needed, including regular travel to architecture studios and project locations within the region.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience.
  • Previous operational management experience.
  • Maintains professional registration and has related technical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 12 years experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams.
  • Works cooperatively with other regional business group directors, regional and local office managers, technical and marketing directors.
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Strong business skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
