About the Role

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is seeking a Population Health Analyst to join the Reimbursement & Analytics Team. This role supports product initiatives and programs focused on medical cost and utilization management, sales and marketing, and quality improvement and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and analyses to client partners and support product initiatives and programs in Medical Cost and Utilization Management, Sales and Marketing, and Quality Improvement and Wellness.
  • Track, measure, and convey results to internal and external audiences, focusing on product, financial, quality improvement, and medical utilization data.
  • Act as a consultant to client partners and program stakeholders to improve the design and evaluation of health plan benefits and programs.
  • Complete analyses to guide decisions and make recommendations on program direction.
  • Support client initiatives and develop reports and analyses based on multiple data sources.
  • Consult with internal and external parties.
  • Develop and monitor models to assess program impact and value.
  • Research and develop benchmarks.
  • Analyze trends.
  • Develop presentations and participate in external meetings to advance strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in health care, business, statistics, math or a closely related field.
  • Three to five years of population health and/or health insurance experience.
  • Experience in reimbursement methodologies, data research and reporting.
  • Microsoft Excel and SAS programming knowledge.
