About the Role
Pulse is seeking an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a locum position in Chadwell Heath. This role involves supporting children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs through EHCP needs assessments and mainstream school assessments.
Responsibilities
- Undertake Education, Health and Care (EHCP) needs assessments for children and young people aged 0–19 years.
- Complete mainstream school assessments for children aged 5–19 years.
- Carry out formal and informal Speech and Language Therapy assessments to evaluate communication needs.
- Produce clear, comprehensive, and evidence-based assessment reports to support EHC plans.
- Work collaboratively with education professionals, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with HCPC and local service standards.
Requirements
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Previous experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
- Experience administering both formal and informal Speech and Language Therapy assessments.
- Experience undertaking EHCP needs assessments, report writing, and mainstream school assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality clinical reports.
