About the Role

Kennedy International School is seeking a part-time Preschool Teacher Assistant for its Japanese Saturday School, specifically for the 3-year-old program during the 2026-2027 school year. The role begins August 29th, 2026, with hours from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, self-motivated, and dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe learning environment for young children.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers with lesson preparation, including gathering materials and setting up equipment.
Collaborate with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule.
Work with students individually or in small groups to review lesson material.
Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom environment.
Supervise students during non-classroom times such as breaks, lunch, recess, and field excursions.
Partner with lead teachers to identify student challenges and suggest solutions.
Support lead teachers in creating lesson plans.
Act as a Lead Teacher during camp sessions.
Adhere to all state, school, and class rules and regulations.
Attend all training sessions, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
Must possess a compassionate and positive attitude.
Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
Preferred candidate will have a current U.S. work visa, if applicable.
