About the Role

Phoenix Defense is seeking an Instructor/Operator to support the Army MSTC at Ft. Drum, NY. This role involves planning and executing medical training and validation in accordance with military doctrine, instructing a diverse group of soldiers in realistic, high-fidelity simulation scenarios. The Instructor/Operator will assess students' critical thinking and psychomotor skills in simulated combat environments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure training courses cater to all student levels.
  • Instruct, demonstrate skills, and test Soldiers in 68W Sustainment, EMT, and NREMT levels, as well as CLS courses.
  • Meet minimum instructor qualifications for assigned courses.
  • Instruct a mixed population of Soldiers, adhering to instructor/student ratios.
  • Collaborate with training units on equipment use, preparation, and cleanup.
  • Present technical material and applications effectively.
  • Maintain proficiency with applicable company products.
  • Manage consumable items and perform Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) on equipment.
  • Perform daily maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student/employee information.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Must be current in and maintain National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification at the EMT level or higher.
  • Must comply with one of the following: former 68W or 18D NCO ALC graduate; former Navy NEC 8404 or Independent Duty Corpsman E-6 or above; former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service E-6 or above; currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician.
  • Must maintain Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Must complete TC 8-800 (all tables) or the most current TC3 instructor course offered by AMEDD.
  • Must complete TC 8-800 skills validation annually.
  • Must possess comprehension skills for course material and apply knowledge to presentations.
  • Must be familiar with computers and possess basic Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Knowledge of staff positions for program site codes and training centers.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Contractor CAC.

Skills

  • Current NRP certification.
  • Combat experience preferred, especially in medical specialties (68W, 18D, NEC 8404, or 4NOX1).
  • Current provider and/or instructor level certification in PALS, ALS, ACLS, PHTLS, and ITLS.
  • Prior experience in instructing and education methodology.
  • Communication skills (reading, writing, following procedures).
  • Interpersonal skills for instructing students and teamwork.
  • Ability and desire to pursue learning opportunities in emergency medical field.
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite skills.
