About the Role

Responsible for the effective performance and operation of warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, distribution, and inventory control, while ensuring compliance with policies and procurement laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to warehouse staff.
  • Reconciles Exception Reports to verify the status of open POs and requisitions.
  • Manages departmental reports supporting warehouse and purchasing efficiencies.
  • Ensures staff safety through training, seminars, and workshops.
  • Conducts bi-weekly Tailgate meetings and schedules safety training.
  • Monitors and audits housekeeping procedures.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate company policies.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance and Accounting for commodity classification, delivery, inspection, issuance, shipping/receiving, and storage.
  • Resolves invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payables.
  • Schedules and tracks physical inventories quarterly, bi-annually, and annually.
  • Manages the disposal of obsolete commodities.
  • Responds to customer service issues and complaints.
  • Follows up on back-order shipments and discrepancies with vendors.
  • Administers management policies and directives.
  • Trains and evaluates subordinate staff, including performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Promotes safety practices and procedures.
  • Assists in interviewing, selection, and hiring of department staff.
  • Resolves grievances.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelors in Business Administration/Finance preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in materials procurement and supply chain management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in vendor development.
  • 3-5 years in a Supervisory capacity.
  • No physical restrictions that would prevent performing physical labor.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, handtrucks and other relevant equipment.
  • Excellent reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand/execute written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to read/understand complex technical instructions.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office Suite, OPS, Google WorkSpace EAM & CMMS, and other computer-based systems.
  • Ability to interpret service manuals and drawings and SOPs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must be capable of being assigned in responsible charge of the facility.
  • Must have the ability to react to unplanned events.
  • Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations with supervisors and Co-Workers.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions with no supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate well with individuals at all skill, knowledge, and experience levels.
  • Must be able to lead by example, train and mentor all staff and team support personnel.
  • Must be able to work as a team in a teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Must be safety conscious and able to work independently with no supervision.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines.
