About the Role
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and vendors, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. This role involves managing front desk and administrative tasks to foster comfort, trust, and clear communication, contributing to a positive experience for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Operate paging and telephone systems professionally.
- Greet visitors and provide directions and information.
- Monitor and track all visitors entering and exiting the facility.
- Oversee use of the copy machine and ensure adequate supplies.
- Operate computer systems and office equipment.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
- Foster and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, professionalism, and positive engagement.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Report safety concerns or hazards promptly.
- Adhere to the facility’s dress code policy.
- Comply with all time and attendance policies.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Must be willing to handle challenging residents/associates.
- Must be able to communicate with staff and other department supervisors.
- Maintains a rapport with residents and their families.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
- Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
