About the Role

RBC is seeking an Associate to join the Global Mining and Metals Investment Banking team in London. This role involves providing Investment Banking services, including M&A, ECM, DCM, and leverage finance, to clients in the Mining & Metals sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage workstreams on M&A, equity financing, and debt financing transactions, collaborating with global teams.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact, supporting senior bankers in relationship development and deal execution.
  • Oversee the preparation of high-quality marketing pitchbooks and related materials.
  • Build financial models and perform valuation analysis for deals and presentations.
  • Conduct and supervise in-depth research and financial analysis.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Contribute to sector coverage by maintaining market intelligence and identifying prospective clients.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with coursework in finance, accounting, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Notable experience in Investment Banking or Transaction Advisory, with mining sector/M&A transaction experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of executing transactions end-to-end.
  • Ability to independently build, audit, and present complex financial models and select appropriate valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within collaborative, fast-paced team environments.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
