About the Role
Provide highly organized, proactive, and forward-looking project and administrative support to the GLA’s UEFA EURO 2028 Core Team across a range of areas including city operations, stakeholder management, fan festivals, social impact, and volunteering. Provide secretariat support to the GLA’s governance structure, working groups, project lead, and senior managers. Act as a central coordination point for corporate tasks including internal project reporting, freedom of information requests, and correspondence to the Mayor and GLA officials.
Responsibilities
- Support the EURO 2028 Core Team with administration, events, meetings, stakeholder visits, project systems, and team cohesion.
- Provide diary and administrative support to the Project Lead, Senior Managers, and EURO 2028 team.
- Track, monitor, and manage project actions against targets, taking ownership and management of project issues, and undertaking follow-up actions.
- Arrange meetings, including scheduling, booking rooms, and ordering catering or equipment, ensuring outcome-focused meetings with clear agendas and actions.
- Circulate meeting documentation and follow up on agreed actions to drive accountability.
- Liaise with stakeholders including London Boroughs, London Sport, UEFA, and The FA, maintaining excellent working relationships.
- Coordinate, manage, and plan consultation and stakeholder events, and communications activities.
- Support the EURO 2028 Business Manager with procurement and financial processes to ensure timely payments.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience of supporting project delivery.
- Strong communication skills and experience of working to demanding deadlines.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience of tracking actions, risks, and dependencies across projects using structured systems or tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience of proactively managing multiple priorities within a busy environment.
- Understanding of operating in a politically sensitive environment and handling communications within it.
