About the Role
As a consultant on the Operational Excellence Consulting team, you are responsible for driving successful outcomes for clients who have escalated metering and billing concerns. You are also responsible for driving cross-team alignment to implement sustainable corrective actions. You will lead client escalation projects from investigation to resolution, which often involves on-site investigations, analyses, corrective action planning and execution, and client communication.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clear project priorities and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables are provided
- Lead investigations to validate submetering designs, accuracy of project documentation, hardware installations, and billing methodologies, identifying gaps or discrepancies
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of meter and billing configurations by performing data analysis, validating energy and water rate models, and identifying billing anomalies
- Assess issue scope and financial impact by developing materiality estimates and partnering with subject matter experts to validate outcomes
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, communicating insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership while driving cross-functional alignment
- Ensure effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions by monitoring outcomes and confirming resolution of identified issues
- Support client communications by translating technical findings into clear, concise messaging and providing subject matter expertise as required
- Travel to client sites throughout Canada and the USA
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or a related discipline
- 2 years of experience in utilities, submetering, energy management, or a related analytical field
- Strong understanding of metering systems, data validation, and billing processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing complex investigations and cross-functional initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Experience with metering or billing platforms is an asset
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Measurement Canada, OEB) is preferred
