Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Senior Associates and Managers on audit, client service and review engagements.
  • Review client files to understand client businesses and develop technical audit skills.
  • Research and maintain strong understanding of the client’s business.
  • Assist with the creation of financial statements including customized note disclosure as required.
  • Identify accounting issues and collaborate with Senior Associate or Manager to develop work plans.
  • Perform assigned assurance procedures and completes sections of the file under the supervision of the lead or Senior Associate.
  • Develop questions to ensure reporting information is tested and demonstrates a reasonable understanding of client challenges.
  • Prepare corporate tax returns as needed.
  • Respond promptly and proactively to clients.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Canadian CPA designation.
  • Completion of a Bachelors degree majoring in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
  • Under two (2) years experience with a public accounting firm focused on assurance accounting and tax.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • $60,000-$80,000
