About the Role
Diamond Aircraft Industries is seeking an Avionics / Electrical Engineer to support senior engineers, perform production support, provide technical assistance to sales and after-sales departments, and implement design changes to improve aircraft electrical systems. This role involves developing certification plans, generating test plans, coordinating testing, and creating compliance reports.
Responsibilities
- Support avionics / electrical senior engineers and specialists.
- Perform ongoing production support through disposition of non-conformances.
- Support other engineering groups as assigned.
- Provide ongoing technical support for sales and after-Sales departments.
- Support Continuing Airworthiness activities including service bulletins and service difficulty investigations.
- Implement changes to aircraft design and/or manufacturing processes.
- Make improvements to the electrical design, quality, safety, and performance of the aircraft.
- Review engineering change requests.
- Participate in the classification of type design changes.
- Develop certification plans for Major type design changes.
- Generate test plans, analysis reports, and other substantiating documents.
- Design and prepare flight test change orders.
- Support installation of test equipment.
- Coordinate testing (ground and flight), analysis, and/or generate design reviews to substantiate compliance to regulations.
- Generate compliance reports to demonstrate compliance to the regulations.
- Participate in research and development activities as necessary.
Requirements
- 5 years Engineering experience (min 3 years relevant Aerospace Engineering)
- Experience with Garmin products is considered an asset
- Experience with troubleshooting avionics or electrical issues
- Knowledge of Part 23 certification regulations
- Experience with CAD tools, CATIA preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office products and collaborations tools
- Experience writing technical reports
- Previous or current delegation experience with a civil aviation authority is an asset
- Professional Engineering Licence is also an asset
- Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize tasks
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
