About the Role

The Donor Service Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for donors, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating donations. This role also contributes to developing communications about MSF's programs and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue strategic opportunities to identify and develop new audience segments or donors.
  • Build trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors by updating them on activities and developing long-term relationships.
  • Design, develop, and deliver the donor engagement strategy.
  • Secure reliable, sustainable, and efficient resources aligned with MSF-US commitments.
  • Drive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.
  • Deploy and champion technological systems and capabilities to enhance Development's offerings to donors.
  • Answer calls, emails, and mail inquiries from allocated donors and prospective donors to maintain and strengthen relationships.
  • Act as a first point of contact for resolving customer queries and complaints.
  • Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Develop or operate basic elements of data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.
  • Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization.
  • Contribute to the management of partnering relationships, delivering professional services within established routines or project agreements.
  • Produce, update, and provide best practice support on MS documents, databases, and departmental systems.
  • Operate as a recognized expert to assess situations and make appropriate adjustments to thinking and work habits.
  • Apply expertise to identify and understand key donation influences.
  • Apply expertise to establish trust within the client’s organization.
  • Apply expertise to orient MSF-USA around delivering to the key needs of their donors.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of administrative experience, preferably in a customer service and/or non-profit environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
  • Proven administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to track multiple projects simultaneously.
  • No supervisory responsibility.
