About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer II, FinOps to join the Tech Foundations Team for a 12-month maternity cover. This role supports Delivery Hero's innovation and growth by working on foundational systems that enhance feature development, security, reliability, and efficiency. The FinOps and Tech Metrics team focuses on data pipelines, visualization solutions, and organizational capabilities for global technology efficiency, optimizing cloud and AI resource usage and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize terminal-first or IDE-based agentic tooling to deliver automated, quality-controlled, near real-time data pipelines and data-driven software features for optimizing public cloud, SaaS, and AI cost, usage, and driving business value.
  • Build generative analytics and visualization solutions, including automated insight extraction, business intelligence dashboards, reports, and tooling integrations.
  • Apply AI/ML solutions for anomaly detection, automated analyses, forecasting, identification of optimization opportunities, and similar use cases.
  • Ensure a great data and user experience by staying close to users and product personas, and provide outstanding support.
  • Contribute to the definition and evolution of data and software architecture, considering non-functional requirements in collaboration with team members.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building quality data pipelines in the cloud with large datasets.
  • Demonstrated language-agnostic coding skills and SQL proficiency for ELT/ETL transformations and efficient data querying.
  • Strong communication skills and interest in business and internal customers.
  • Understanding the importance of data cleaning and providing excellent customer support.
