About the Role

Bring inspiring home and design stories to life across platforms where audiences discover, engage, and share. As a Temporary Assistant Social Media Editor, you will help shape a dynamic social presence, experiment with emerging trends, and create content that grows our community while celebrating the creativity and style that define the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to House Beautiful's cross-platform social media strategy to grow audience engagement and brand reach across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop and maintain the social media content calendar while supporting promotional plans for editorial initiatives, features, and launches.
  • Create, schedule, and publish compelling social content that aligns with House Beautiful's editorial voice, visual standards, and deadlines.
  • Monitor platform performance, analyze engagement metrics, and share actionable insights to help optimize content strategy.
  • Collaborate with editorial, art, commerce, and photo teams to develop creative, social-first storytelling initiatives.
  • Identify emerging social trends, formats, and platform features, and recommend opportunities to keep House Beautiful's content fresh and competitive.
  • Utilize social publishing and analytics tools, including TrueAnthem, Parse.ly, and Dash Hudson, to inform programming decisions and improve performance.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience managing or supporting social media content for a media brand, publisher, or comparable digital environment.
  • Strong editorial judgment with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Passion for home, interior design, lifestyle, and digital storytelling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of major social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging channels.
  • Experience using or the ability to quickly learn tools such as TrueAnthem, Parse.ly, Dash Hudson, or similar social publishing and analytics platforms.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for engaging visual and social-first content.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to experiment with new social trends and formats.
