About the Role

Assists the Inventory Asset Manager in the administration, management, and supervision of warehouse operations and staff. Accountable for managing, directing, organizing, and overseeing all activities performed by warehouse staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Responsible for scheduling maintenance, repair, and service of vehicles and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates.
  • Plans stockroom, warehouse, and storage area layouts, considering turnover, size, weight, and other factors.
  • Ensures timely processing of paperwork for procurement, receipt, and tracking of stock, materials, and assets.
  • Ensures received stocks comply with organizational quality standards.
  • Advises associates on care and preservation of items, handling methods, and equipment use.
  • Accounts for and reports inventory surplus, product returns, and damages.
  • Studies records and recommends actions for non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
  • Tracks the transportation and distribution of inventory.
  • Meets deadlines for the transfer of goods and materials.
  • Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Supervises cycle counting.
  • Traces item history to identify discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends solutions.
  • Utilizes and maintains barcode equipment and supplies.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve subordinate efficiency.
  • Trains and certifies associates on forklift operation and maintenance.
  • Operates delivery vehicles and/or equipment, and oversees preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Performs Fire Warden responsibilities.
  • Conducts forklift (industrial equipment) exercises, regular training, and workshops for staff.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  • Prepares composite reports from individual subordinate reports.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Provides coverage for all hours of operation (7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday) as needed.
  • Provides 24-hour response to operational emergencies.
  • Multi-tasks and adjusts to the workings of a dynamic environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Inventory Asset Manager.

Requirements

  • Directly supervises nine associates in the Warehouse Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Proficient in computer operations sufficient to maintain inventory records, conduct research, and communicate electronically.
  • Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Work Permit, which requires an extensive background check.
  • Successful candidates must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
