About the Role
This role involves performing a variety of cleaning activities in various areas, ensuring standards are met, and managing supplies and waste.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing.
- Ensure all rooms and department areas are cared for and inspected according to The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards.
- Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
- Notify supervisor of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
- Handle reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace them when appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety.
- Handle waste, including potential exposure to chemicals, communicable diseases, and related waste (including bodily fluids).
- Work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Work in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred.
- Customer-oriented and friendly.
- Potential need for a valid NYS Driver License.
- Ability to work in a harmonious manner with all other departments.
- Ability to map out assignments and complete them in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work on feet most of the day.
- Ability to perform a great deal of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of the English language.
- Ability to measure cleaning supplies.
