About the Role
To lead, plan, and deliver high-impact marketing and communications for UEFA EURO 2028 in London, ensuring integration of GLA marketing campaign messages and objectives within the wider event plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the delivery of an integrated marketing and communications plan for the GLA’s UEFA EURO 2028 project.
- Act as an account manager, working closely with marketing and communications teams at UEFA, UK&I 2028, and the FA.
- Lead the Marketing and Communications Working Group for EURO 2028 in London.
- Work with EURO 2028 project team members to anticipate future programme needs and plan marketing and communications activity.
- Advise stakeholders on risks, opportunities, and direction.
- Work with the GLA Marketing and Digital Communications Team to ensure GLA marketing campaign objectives are promoted.
- Take a rigorous approach to planning and management, ensuring clear objectives and effective performance processes.
- Manage the marketing and communications budget to ensure value for money.
Requirements
- Experience managing the development and delivery of a high-profile, multi-channel, marketing and communications plan for a major sport event.
- Knowledge of the structure of London Government and how sport is managed nationally.
- Experience operating in a politically sensitive environment and handling communications.
- Experience managing a large budget to deliver a high-profile campaign with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience using data, insight, and evaluation to inform marketing and communications strategy.
- Experience planning and delivering operational comms for a major sport event.
