About the Role

Logistics is the engine room of our platform, where data science drives real-time decisions for courier matching, arrival time prediction, and marketplace balancing. As Senior Data Scientist for Logistics, you will own the technical development of data-driven solutions, setting the technical strategy, improving engineering standards, and guiding modeling and architectural decisions. You will translate complex logistics challenges into sophisticated modeling strategies, write production-grade code, and deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

Engineer intelligent, automated systems capable of making high-stakes operational choices under real-time uncertainty.
Take ownership of algorithmic policies optimizing order preparation triggers and courier dispatch timing.
Develop machine learning and optimization frameworks to balance conflicting business metrics.
Build models that account for cause-and-effect relationships to adjust for non-compliant partner behaviors and system feedback loops.
Construct robust, scenario-based simulation engines to test hypotheses and validate algorithmic performance.
Drive the entire project pipeline from conceptualization and modeling to production deployment and A/B experimentation.
Partner with Machine Learning and Software Engineers to integrate complex models into the real-time production logistics stack.

Requirements

Advanced proficiency in machine learning methodologies with extensive experience deploying and managing models in production.
Proven experience solving Sequential Decision Making problems in domains such as capacity management, dynamic pricing, inventory control, robotics, recommendation systems, or similar.
Deep proficiency in at least one of: Markov Decision Processes, Stochastic Optimization, Reinforcement Learning, or Causal Inference, with a solid conceptual understanding of the others.
Strong Python skills for production-grade code, proficiency in SQL, and solid software best practices (testing, git, code reviews).
Ability to intuitively understand feedback loops and inter-domain effects in complex networks.
Prioritize simple, scalable, and effective solutions for complex projects.
Strong leadership skills to guide, mentor, and develop junior data scientists.
Foster team collaboration and a supportive engineering culture.
Holistic approach to project management bridging operational needs with technical execution.
Confidently manage data science solutions from ideation through the full model lifecycle.
Ability to generate innovative ideas and test hypotheses rigorously.
Critically analyze approaches, assumptions, and business impact to refine strategies.
Strong expertise working within Agile environments.
Collaborate seamlessly across diverse, cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills to translate complex data insights and data science concepts clearly.
Effectively present and tailor messages to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
